Greetings, Lunime Wikians! As we look back on the past year of our wiki adventures, we're excited to bring you the Annual Lunime Wiki Recap! Taking inspo from our old buddies at the Gacha Club Wiki who do weekly newsletters, we're doing a yearly version. Our recap will cover cool stuff from the year, wiki news, interesting questions, special features, and we'll announce the Editor of the Year.
📅 Recap of 2023[]
- As we step into the new year, let's pause to reflect on Lunime Wiki's remarkable journey in 2023. This year brought us several significant milestones, such as welcoming two new staff members while bidding farewell to cherished colleagues as they embarked on new adventures. We celebrated a noteworthy achievement as we reached 800 articles on Lunime Wiki, a testament to our continued growth and commitment to the Lunime community.
- Furthermore, we eagerly marked the release of Gacha Life 2 on October 9th at 22:29 UTC, an event that filled our community with excitement. While 2023 had its share of highs and lows, one incident, not widely known, unfolded in September. During that time, an unusual surplus of individual 'o's mysteriously appeared on all of Lunime Wiki's pages. Regrettably, I was responsible for this mishap while experimenting with a JavaScript import from the Dev Wiki Fandom. I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
- In my earnest attempt to resolve the 'o' issue, I used JavaScript once more to remove these extra characters. However, this endeavor inadvertently led to the removal of all 'o's from the wiki's articles. Thankfully, fellow staff members promptly rallied to undo my edits and rescue the wiki from the 'o' apocalypse I unintentionally initiated. Some remnants of 'o's may still linger on certain pages. It's worth noting that this incident occurred on the 11th of September, a date etched in memory. Once again, I extend my heartfelt apologies for my errors and commit to exercising greater caution when utilizing tools that could impact the wiki in the future.
- This year brought significant changes to the Lunime Wiki, impacting not only our articles but also our community's staff board. We welcomed three new members and bid farewell to eight dedicated staff members. Among our recent additions, Dragolosse, who joined us in September, made a lasting impact on Lunime Wiki. Their unwavering dedication revitalized our wiki's main page and articles. Dragolosse introduced valuable features like the Gacha Life and Gacha Club navboxes and created a majority of our preload templates.
- We also extended a warm welcome to XMillyX, a respected Bureaucrat from the Gacha Club Wiki. She seamlessly integrated into our community, actively engaging with members and contributing to our projects. Lastly, TeystylaTwo, our newest Thread Moderator, has proven to be an exceptional addition. Their effective enforcement of wiki rules and positive community interactions have greatly benefitted our community. Having been a part of our community since March 2021, their dedication shines through.
- To maintain an active and efficient staff team, we've made necessary adjustments, including the removal of inactive staff members and those who voluntarily closed their accounts. While their roles have concluded, we deeply appreciate their past contributions, and their profiles proudly display "Retired Staff" tags as a symbol of our gratitude and respect.
🌟 Question of the Newsletter[]
- For more community engagement, the Lunime Wiki has introduced a "Question of the Newsletter" feature in our newsletters!
- In this section, staff members will pose questions, but we also encourage users to suggest questions by reaching out to Dragolosse, TeystulaTwo, or myself with a newsletter query they have in mind. It's worth noting that questions unrelated to the wiki are also welcome!
- For this newsletter's question, we turn to you members: Is there a specific holiday theme you'd like to see featured on the wiki, such as Christmas or Halloween? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
🏆 Editor of the Year[]
- In our final informative section of the newsletter, I'm sure you've all been eagerly awaiting the results of our Editor of the Year votes. Before we dive into the announcement, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took the time to vote and actively participate in this event.
- Without further ado, the user who received the highest number of votes and has earned the prestigious title of "Editor of the Year" for 2023 is...
