Strategy Guide[]
Note:This guide is not fully complete yet as I have yet to go beyond corruption levels 4,000 for every element and enough boss levels to glitch up all of the bosses other than gacha salt. -Shizu Forever
Note that this guide assumes that you are using Gacha World version 1.3.5. Some information may be inaccurate as of update version 1.3.6. (If you don't like the fact that my guide is one version behind, then go install the game and figure out everything yourself. I don't like the UI changes present in version 1.3.6. Deal with it.)
The method that requires a lot of patience:
Continuously reset the game until you can gacha Penelope Coconut with 1,000 gems or more remaining (you need it to convert into gold coins as 1,000 gems -> 3,000,000 gold coins is the best rates out there) because it is the most sure-fire way to get that ridiculously broken unit. (resetting is a consistent source of 2,000 gems at the cost of losing progress, which really is nothing to worry about unless if you are like already level 150)
Then, after getting Penelope Coconut and having 1,000 gems left, convert it into 3,000,000 gold coins. Now buy all of the costume items that cost gold. (it costs exactly 337,500 gold coins to get them all, far less than the amount you just got from converting) After that, leave the gold for elemental upgrades (found under the shop tab)
NOTE: REMEMBER TO ALWAYS KEEP YOUR ELEMENTAL UPGRADES MAXED - WHICH IS THE SAME AS YOUR SUMMONER LEVEL
Elemental upgrades is a ridiculously broken feature too, being a percentage multiplier of all units of its respective element type. When prioritizing elements to upgrade in that shop, do it in this order: dark/light -> water/fire/wind -> all (all up only has half effectiveness due to game balancing choices - no, not a bug) I repeat - Always buy max elemental upgrades whenever you level up.
Now that you did all of that, it is time to assemble your first team!
First Team[]
Team recommendation:
If you have the patience, try getting this team from the start - Penelope Coconut, Wolf Spirit Keito, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Lulano Skybunny, Shishi - this team has the top 5 highest attack units once you max level them and incidentially they have the highest ATK:HP ratio out there.
Otherwise, this one also works - Penelope Coconut, DJ Phantom, Celestial Alice, Tormentor Seiya, Lord Zeijur - this team is useful for sweeping as row does not deal weaker damage like aoe does, but can damage the other row if it finishes its original designated row. Meaning: is something between aoe and single attack.
If you have the will to fiddle around different teams round robin style, try setting the following teams into your team slot 1-5:
- Team 1: If you have Penelope Coconut, Grandmaster Claire, Baka Blaire, Creator Luni, Frost then use them. Otherwise, fill in the other four with row units of the same element type. There should be enough row units to fill in the gaps.
- Team 2: If you have Wolf Spirit Keito, Chocolate Clover, DJ Clover, Arbiter Keitoku, Florepuella Marie then use them. Otherwise, fill in the other four with row units of the same element type. There should be enough row units to fill in the gaps.
- Team 3: If you have Phoenix Ami, Scythe Ripper, DJ X-mas, Idol Kinen, Candy Tanuki then use them. Otherwise, fill in the other four with row units of the same element type. There should be enough row units to fill in the gaps.
- Team 4: If you have Starlight Ellie, Christmas Eve, Cupid Valentine, Kitsune Mitsuko, Nanoko Shiki then use them. Otherwise, fill in the other four with row units of the same element type. There should be enough row units to fill in the gaps.
- Team 5: If you have Reaperess Magy, Witch Melody, Angelic Violet, Nyxeria Luiselle, Lolita Loli then use them. Otherwise, fill in the other four with row units of the same element type. There should be enough row units to fill in the gaps.
First Battle & Status Points[]
After setting up the aforementioned teams, your first battle no matter which method you picked from this page should be EXP 1-1 (cyko easy) as it will immediately give you 10 level ups at once upon first clear. Invest all of the stat points that you get in this order no matter which stage of the game you are in: 250 SUM -> 217 CRIT -> 200 DODGE -> 250 STR
Summon is the strongest stat as it is a percentage multiplier (Noticing a pattern here?) so it should always be upgraded first. Critical doubles your damage so should be second. Dodge is relatively a dump stat as there's no need to dodge when it is always your turn (oneshot everything before they can even make a move on your HP) so third. Strength is an additive stat, so it is pretty much useless but at least it is better than Vitality as it at least somewhat speeds up your kills.
Farming logic:[]
- If you lose, go down a stage.
- If you cannot beat the farming stage in 10-20 seconds, then stay in the same stage.
- If you can oneshot every single wave, go up a stage.
- If all else fails, try gacha for more limit breaks, as they increase base stats by a percentage multiplier.
- If even that seems pointless, then try buying the (avatar costume) shop items as these globally increase base stats from yet another percentage multiplier.
Always grind gems in arena once you are strong enough. (there are three arenas, pick your game wisely) It is not worth wasting precious time grinding gems or gold in farming events as it takes more than one wave to complete the battle whereas it only takes one wave in arena. (you can convert gems into gold) Boss battles are a good temporary boost in gems but not a valid long term source of gems as the battles progressively get harder as you complete them more. (even though the gem rewards get better - until it gets capped at 50 gems per win in boss mode other than Gacha Salt) Same thing goes for tower mode.
I have calculated that if you never stop using Penelope Coconut since the start of the game, by the time you max her to level 100 (pre-awakening level cap), your player level will be somewhere between level 74 and 75. At this point, please consider immediately awakening Penelope Coconut, then depending which units are being used with her, to awaken them if possible or to hold it off for other potentially useful units. Regardless of the choice, change out the maxed out units for some other units (First three rows of the first three rarities?) to farm up their levels as it is a waste to let experience points fly off the game. (maxed units don't gain experience - sadly no experience bug here ... or is there ...)
Skip Awakening[]
Note: This doesn't Work On Version 1.3.6 Here is one tiny little oversight that Luni apparently forgot about. We have determined the exact xp required to level up on every single level (check spreadsheet) and it seems that if you have exactly 49,999 or less xp remaining until leveling up for 3* units and beat EXP S2-5 (magy final), you can skip awakening and jump straight to level 71. (apparently the check for whether to lock xp gaining or not is determined after the xp to level conversion is done then if == 70 set unit to locked and remove all excess xp, not during battle) If you have X2 EXP for whatever reason (sucks to be you, p2w cheaters, or those that exploit a certain bug in version 1.3.6 to freely gain access to something this broken) then you can have exactly 199,999 or less xp remaining until leveling up for 3* and 99,999 or less xp remaining until leveling up for 4* and then beat EXP S2-5 and skip awakening directly. This can save major progress as we all know that awakening materials especially in early game is hard to get. Seriously, nai wa.
By the time you have maxed out the first three rows of the first three rarities, if you have remained diligent with maintaining your elemental upgrades, then you should have the strength to take on story mode completely. Yes, even that rumored final boss. (yes it is ellie - though at this point pretty much everyone knows) I highly recommend either using the highest ATK:HP ratio team or at least play around with the elemental round robin strategy when in story mode all the way up to stage 9-5-5. Now, before you waste your time any further, you should go have some fun in tower mode and boss mode. Please at least nab all that cash that is hidden within tower 1. Just finish that thing already.
Recommended teams for tower mode 1:[]
The most recommended team - Penelope Coconut, DJ Phantom, Celestial Alice, Tormentor Seiya, Lord Zeijur - this team is useful for sweeping as row does not deal weaker damage like aoe does, but can damage the other row if it finishes its original designated row. Meaning: is something between aoe and single attack.
Otherwise, this one also works - DJ Eve, DJ Phantom, Celestial Alice, Tormentor Seiya, Lord Zeijur - at first glance, DJ Eve might be a strange choice. A healer? A healer in leader position? Wouldn't that mess with the auto feature's attacking priority? (I'll explain how to abuse auto into our favor in a later paragraph) Short answer: Well nobody told you to use auto here. All we want is DJ Eve's completely broken leader skill. If you have not already checked, it basically makes it so that you walk to a brand new HP bar that has not been opened before everytime you live long enough to kill everything in front of you and be able to walk to another screen of enemies. Completely useless in boss mode and arena mode, somewhat useful in event mode and story mode, but just pure agony in tower mode. For the enemies. A fight that was fifteen times harder just became fifteen times easier. This is so broken that even someone like me, who just does not recommend any serious actions taken when carrying healers anywhere in the team, would recommend using. Of course, outside of this little gimmick, I would never recommend using DJ Eve seriously for anything serious.
Now, try to finish tower 2 as far as you can. Then please read this before you attempt 9-5-5.
In level 9-5-5 (luni impossible), it's basically an undertale bullet hell reference shoved into your way as an obstacle from beating story mode. There are two ways to beat it, the legit way that gives you bragging rights and whatnot (finishing with 1/1HP) but this guide as you all know by reading up until this point, is nothing about boring stuff. This is serious stuff. We here give you insight on how to beat this game with zero skill. It is all just dice rolls stacked onto dice rolls. Winning is eventual. So all that you need to do right now (in fact you could already be doing this while reading this pointless banter) is to lose in that stage twenty times. Now why are we doing pointless things you ask? Well up until this point you may have already realized that when you lose, you don't gain anything from battle, but this stage is different. When you die in 9-5-5, your maxHP increases by five until it is capped at a hundred. So you would definitely want to max that. By doing that, unless you still have the determination to waste your time any further, you certainly should have tried staying in the middle doing nothing, and noticing how it actually is harder to get hit by staying still, even though the last couple of missiles will still prove to be too much for your measly 100/100 HP to cope with. Here's the method to clear this stage once you lost twenty times: You stay in the middle except when you can, dodge three missiles that are headed into the middle without getting hit by anything that isn't aiming for the middle. Then just stay in the middle. I need to check again if it is actually enough to just dodge three but I have "never lost" (better term: never got stuck at) 9-5-5 after using this method.
Team Building[]
Oh hey, look! Maybe you have persevered and reached this point in the guide. You have found favor in my eyes. I shall teach you teambuilding. The summary of how auto works:
- Activate the leftest summon skill not on cooldown that can be paid with sufficient gacha stars and gain a gacha star plus one per enemy you killed and an additional star if you pass a wave. (yes even summon skills gain stars)
- (if that doesn't work due to all summon skills being either on cooldown or being too expensive, then) Cast the leftest basic skill not on cooldown and gain a gacha star plus one per enemy you killed and an additional star if you pass a wave.
- (if a basic attack is called and Wolf Spirit Keito or Baka Blaire is leader; technically Lulano Skybunny too but putting single units in the front of any auto party is just plain stupid) Cast that same basic skill. (doesn't have to be the same enemy, tested on rows where if they finish their principal row, they move onto the other row)
Based on these, it is safe to say that healers only mess up auto. One of the reasons why I really hate healers. Second derivative fact: Putting low star cost units before high star cost units can ensure the high star cost units never gets summoned. (because low star cost units also have lower cooldown - 3* basic attack = 3, the other basic attacks are 4, 3* summon = 3, 4* summon = 4, the other summon attacks are 5) This can both work in your favor or against. There might be units that have good stats but have skills that are useless or cost too much. I tend to call this type of units stat fodder.
There's another factor to put into consideration, and that is elemental coverage. The trio (water/wind/fire) is resistant and strong to each other, but the duo (light/dark) is only strong against the other, offering no resistances at all. This means that you should use the duo for cleaning any mess that the trio cannot. (it is always 33% safer to be attacked while your element is one of the trio compared to the duo due to this resistance property) Therefore, have high coverage shapes for the trio (aoe/row) and have the duo clean up any mess that the trio cannot (column/single). It is also okay to have teams that mix only the duo, but such a team should only be made when enemies are confirmed to be one-shottable, as the only practical advantage of such a team is not being resisted by any enemies.
Boss Mode[]
Now, back onto the game as a whole. Consider pushing as far as you can get with boss mode to get more gems. Remember that you can only use auto on bosses from worlds 1 - 3. Then, after farming all that you could before you get bored and uninstall this game or your phone breaks, whichever comes first, go as far as you can in arena 1 and attempt to clear story mode 10-1-4 and any stages prior. Once you reach story mode 10-1-5, this is where your hard work in maxing the first three rows of the first three rarities and upkeeping your elemental upgrades come in. If you have done that incessantly, then you should be overprepared but just in case, some people report that re-adjusting their stats for just this moment is beneficial for increasing the odds of actually beating that stage, while in my opinion only stalls for more chance to roll a healer when you absolutely need it the least. Well, do whatever you want man, not my problem. I even have videos documenting how it is completely unnecessary for VIT stat but really, 10-1-5 doesn't really lock any content behind the bars other than gacha salt so maybe it is because I am overleveled? Doesn't really matter anyways.
Nightmare Yume[]
In case you haven't realized, this boss likes to heal on turn 2 if it couldn't kill you on turn 1. So what you do is if you have Penelope Coconut as leader, wait for it to heal first by either waiting the timer out or use a basic attack to waste a turn, then after it heals, spend the stars to slam it as hard as you can. Then if it knocks you out, you get to save the damage dealt. However you should consider using Shi Shi to delay turn and hopefully kill it the next fight or it will heal itself again.
Corruption Shop Stock Oversight[]
Have you ever wondered what is the point of 6* and 7* tickets outside of gifts and microtransactions? It seems very pointless at first as the only ways to obtain a renewable amount of them is ... none. (The amount of currency in real life is limited by how many atoms are present in the known universe.) But here's a catch. For any corruption shop item that you fully buy out to 0 stock remaining, you can simply enter the fashion page under the hero tab and then go back to the corruption event shop then lo and behold! They actually bothered to restock ... one item of every category that you completely exhaust. Pretty useless other than the fact that you can now have renewable tickets. Thanks, corruption update.
End Game[]
So, you have finished story mode by this point, so now what? There are still some things that are worthy of completing but if you really couldn't care less, then feel free to uninstall the app now. The game won't miss you or anything. But if you still have any lingering sentiment to that world, then here's the things yet to be completed:
- This section is cut because of the flexing nature and it does't really fit the theme of this article. If you still want to view this section, please go to User:Ander Ku to read upon my progress and how you might possibly push the game to its fullest limits.
Post Game Boss Mode[]
Phase 1 of Boss[]
So, I decided to continue this guide a little further since I actually managed to max all units. I shall now proceed to defeat as many bosses as possible to overflow the boss maxHP calculation algorithm to see what happens when you fight a boss with negative maxHP. And in order to do that, I respecced all of my skill points and changed my team roster. (PS: I already have total boss level at 3,500 so this might not be the most efficient strategy if you have not reached this point of the game.)
Stat spread: 5 VIT 250 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 167 SUM
Team roster: Shishi, Lulano Skybunny, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Penelope Coconut, Spirit Wolf Keito
Reasoning: Since you die in one hit anyway, why not just become a glass cannon...WITH MAX DODGE
By the way, some guides in the original lunime forums suggested switching unit 1 and 2 of the team shown above, but that is highly inefficient as most bosses attack cooldown are three or below, meaning even with the x2 attack it is not possible to summon before dodging the second round of attacks made by the boss. And the dodge boost gets lowered by 5% with such a swap, which is highly undesirable as getting hit once is already enough to end your attempt and take up time to show the defeat screen.
Phase 2 of Boss[]
Now that you raised your total boss level to roughly somewhere in between 4,000 and 4,500 and you start to realize that most bosses have their HP so high that it gets really slow to kill them, even with the highest ATK team out there, right? Well I have the perfect solution for that! (PS: I have almost reached 5,000 total boss level as I am writing this so this might not work if you are not even close to this number.)
Stat spread: 5 VIT 250 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 167 SUM
Team roster: Lulano Skybunny, Shishi, Scarecrow Kilios, Dice, Avenger Reed
Reasoning: Bosses with too much HP has one weakness, and it is namely the x2 ATK paired up with 5 single attackers! (Now comes with a little bit less CRIT & DODGE but it's still better than nothing.)
Again, don't sue me if it doesn't work. I am not responsible for any hours wasted from farming since at this point you cannot be telling me you are seriously playing this game seriously anymore. The game is over. Please stop kicking the dead horse. Quit already. Get a life.
Phase 3 of Boss[]
Okay. I have no idea why I'm still writing this (this section came into being after <Post Game Corruption Mode> was written) but here goes nothing. If you ever need a versatile boss team that can tackle almost any problem with ease, well you're in luck! (not that I'm really enthusiastic at the time of writing this but you get the point)
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
Team roster: Penelope Coconut, Shishi, Lulano Skybunny, Scarecrow Kilios, Dice
Reasoning: Leader gives stars, second gives free turns, third resets cooldown, fourth contributes stats, and fifth is random. No comment.
Post Game Corruption Mode[]
Phase 1 of Corruption[]
I debated whether I really wanna write this final section before I restart the game again just to test out this guide (and mostly because I got bored of having everything max anyways, and my total boss level is 6,000 by the time this guide is read by others if things don't go wrong) and my total corruption event level is 2,000. But here it is anyway. For those of you who wanna take your corruption game to the next level.
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
Team roster: Penelope Coconut, Wolf Spirit Keito, Scythe Ripper, DJ X-mas, Witch Melody
Reasoning: This team is very summon heavy so instead of max STR less SUM, it benefits more from max SUM less STR. The star count should be able to self-sustain as there are always six enemies per wave in this mode. The units are all high ATK:HP ratio for faster sweeping. You need max LB (limit break) everything and maxed EU (elemental upgrades) to pull this one off properly or you will not be able to oneshot every wave, leading to the result of running out of stars. Max LV (both unit level and summoner level) goes without saying. Adjust team order depending on elemental advantage. It’s best to not change the leader or this will not work.
Phase 2 of Corruption[]
After a while, wind stages will be bad on auto because leading with an elementally disadvantaged unit with forsakens that immediately retaliate with the low cooldown will not cut it. (the enemies HP will tank the summon attack so you cannot take it out in one hit, leading to a lot of amplified attack damage being taken) Therefore, I propose the following team as a working solution that I extensively tested. The principle behind it is that you start with six summon stars to kick start the summoning attack damage, then you kill wind units which are weak to fire giving you more summon stars meaning it self sustains the summoning star meter. All units are fire aoe which is the best choice for wind corruption stages. Despite the bad ATK:HP ratio, the team composition easily compensates it with the leader skill and all units being strong against their enemies. Please do remember that you need the stat spread to prioritize on summoning just as usual.
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
Team roster: DJ X-mas, Scythe Ripper, Phoenix Ami, Idol Kinen, Candy Tanuki
Phase 3 of Corruption[]
A slight improvement on the team above, I thought of "What if I can use the last two units to slave boost the previous three fire aoe units such that they always oneshot every wind enemy?" and thus this team was born. The reason why I don't switch Phoenix Ami for Senpai Slayer Kuku is because it is not a fire aoe which means that it can possibly waste one of its hits for the front row and miss the back row, plus the difference in stats is negligible compared to the change from five star units to seven star units written below. Also that Senpai Slayer Kuku has an animation length that is far longer than Phoenix Ami while not providing much of a stat difference to justify the longer wave clear times.
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
Team roster: DJ X-mas, Scythe Ripper, Phoenix Ami, Penelope Coconut, Shishi
About that, I actually compiled five optimum teams for handling all five corruption events each and made slight adjustments (lose less than one percent of attack stat while eliminating an elemental disadvantage) to the team above, as shown below:
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
Water Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Wolf Spirit Keito, Arbiter Keitoku, Chocolate Clover, Shishi
Wind Corruption: DJ X-mas, Scythe Ripper, Phoenix Ami, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Shishi
Fire Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Creator Luni, Grandmaster Claire, Baka Blaire, Senpai Slayer Kuku
Light Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Witch Melody, Delicious Melnya, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Shishi
Dark Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Starlight Ellie, Kitsune Mitsuko, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Shishi
Phase 4 of Corruption[]
Upon approaching level 3,000 of individual elemental corruption stages, some adjustments will have to be made to account for enemies not guaranteed to be killed in one hit. Therefore, I propose the following teams:
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
Water Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Wolf Spirit Keito, Chocolate Clover, Arbiter Keitoku, Shishi
Wind Corruption: DJ X-mas, Scythe Ripper, Phoenix Ami, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Shishi
Fire Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Baka Blaire, Grandmaster Claire, Creator Luni, Senpai Slayer Kuku
Light Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Delicious Melnya, Witch Melody, Senpai Slayer Kuku, Shishi
Dark Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Lulano Skybunny, Starlight Ellie, Kitsune Mitsuko, Shishi
Even with the changed dark corruption team, once you hit dark corruption 2,700 autofight will fail to adjust to the enemies' uncertain deaths and manual mode will simply outshine the efficiency of autofighting.
Phase 5 of Corruption[]
Upon approaching level 4,000 of individual elemental corruption stages, you will not be able to finish enemies within a reasonable amount of time anymore. Therefore, I propose the following team:
Stat spread: 5 VIT 167 STR 250 CRIT 250 DODGE 250 SUM
ALL Corruption: Penelope Coconut, Lulano Skybunny, Phoenix Ami, Christmas Eve, Shishi
This team is basically "start hitting hard as soon as the fight starts, then reset and hit as hard as possible again, then heal if enemies survived as they probably hit you if you didnt kill them" strat. Time stop included if all else fails.
At this point, just hope that RNG will eventually give you smooth runs where there are as few forsakens as possible (I experienced fire corruption level 3,997 without any forsakens) as those hit the hardest and takes the longest to destroy. You will likely need to keep trying after you die and die and die just to get past a single level due to level caps and stuff. Good luck going beyond 4,000 as I have yet to try how it's like beyond.
Data Transfer[]
Since Luni removed the chat servers around the time that Lunime Forums were taken down, the backend servers that also handled highscores, leaderboards, and save transferring also ceased to function. But not all hope is lost. If you are using android phones, you can simply go to the data\data folder and look for your savefile then copy it over to another android phone or emulator with pc-to-emu file transfer feature to replace the new savefile created upon launching the game on a new device. Do note that you may need to root your device to be able to see the folder in the first place so make your choice wisely. There is no true way to unroot a device once you root it. DISCLAIMER: I SAY THIS AGAIN. ONCE YOUR DEVICE IS ROOTED, THE RESPONSIBILITY FALLS UPON YOU TO ENSURE THAT YOUR DEVICE IS NOT BRICKED. THIS GUIDE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU END UP BRICKING YOUR DEVICE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
